Love is a Four Letter Word

“Sometimes life requires us to go with the flow. Sometimes it’s the right thing to prioritize. Others’ needs modify our plans and of course, we want to do everything in our power to support our loved ones, to be sensitive to their needs and desires, to engage in teamwork and interdependence. But generosity isn’t generous if we chronically give at the expense of ourselves. If our giving makes us a martyr or fuels our resentment. Love means that we practice self-love. That we strive to be generous and compassionate towards others and to ourselves.

~Dr Edith Eger The Gift

I love Dr Eger’s question:  “How do you structure your time so you don’t neglect yourself?”

Remember a few weeks ago, I mentioned loving your PRESENT self

Bottom line: Loving your present self involves TIME.

There’s a reason I developed a whole course on creating YOU TIME.
It’s one of the most common concerns I hear from clients, especially for working moms: THERE’s simply NOT ENOUGH TIME to do what I want to do… And they are left feeling resentful, sad, frustrated and overwhelmed.

So how do we reclaim our time? Click here to check out my current course if you are interested.

Start with a calendar audit. I’ll walk you through some easy steps to see where all your time is going.

Then we’ll work on taking stock of what you actually want to be doing and what makes you happy. For some, this step can be the challenging one; in my experience, it’s typically for one of two reasons:

#1. It’s often something moms haven’t considered in a while, busy juggling everyone else’s needs and wants at home and at work… and all of those seemed to have climbed the priority ladder. But, this is often the most rewarding: relooking at your passions, your purpose and what makes you uniquely YOU.

#2. Maybe you know exactly what you would fill your time with if you had some and you desperately miss “it”… but the mom guilt that accompanies it becomes unbearable or almost ruins the experience altogether. Ugh!

Truly, this is where the coaching in my program has the biggest effect for most clients. From ugh to shear glee in celebrating what you love to do most.

The last step is building a calendar with intention for what matters most.

“People with too little time are significantly less happy and less satisfied in life.”

“Being time poor makes us more depressed, more stressed, and more emotionally exhausted.”

~ Dr Cassie Holmes Happier Hour

If you are feeling completely overloaded, you aren’t alone AND there is another way. You deserve to be happy and satisfied and time doesn’t have to be the enemy.

You just need to reclaim some time for you, sign up for a free call to find out more.
