It’s a funny time of year to talk about gratitude as a YES BUT…..
I want more.
For context, I was listening to a podcast: Hello Seven with Rachel Rodgers Episode 118, and I loved this so wanted to share here.
“I’ve heard it called, actually, grateful but not satisfied, right? And it’s such a great way to describe that feeling, right? Like I feel gratitude for all that I have and all that I am and all that I’m experiencing in this world. And I want more. There can be those two things coexisting at the same time. And I think sometimes people almost need permission to be like, “Am I allowed to want more?” And it’s like, yes boo boo, you can have more, it’s okay.”
So in case you needed permission to sit with the two co-existing feelings and all it conjures up, permission granted:)
It’s ok to have the angst or the itch when things aren’t quite “right;” it’s ok to listen to that nagging voice wanting change even when things “are good.”
It’s ok to have a great job and an amazing family but still feel like something is missing. Or maybe you have one of those and the other is really dragging you down… Maybe you are searching for both. A special message for all the working moms: it’s ok to want something just for you!
Have you even given yourself time (or mental space) to think about what that something more might be? Let yourself be a tourist. Explore a little.
