The Question That Changes Everything

 

Last week, I introduced The ALIGN Method.

Before we begin our ALIGNed journey together – before we Audit your calendar or Learn your energy code – I want to ask you something that might feel uncomfortable at first:

What do you ***really*** want? 

And why?

Not what you think you should want. Not what others expect.

But deep down, what do you want? This question is the foundation of our work together as we move through the ALIGN Method – from Auditing your current reality to Navigating your new sustainable success.

Today, I’m sharing the exact exercise that’s transformed how my clients approach their time. It’s not about productivity hacks or morning routines (though we can get there, too). It’s about something far more fundamental: your commitment to yourself. Your wants. Your desires. Your life.

Here’s what many clients discover through this process:

‘I realized I wasn’t just seeking better time management – I was seeking permission to prioritize myself without guilt. Once I got clear on that, everything else fell into place.’

The Power of Clear Commitment: Where ALIGN Begins

When you’re crystal clear on what you want and why you want it, decisions become easier. Boundaries become stronger. And most importantly, change becomes possible.

Suddenly, you can easily:

– Audit your time with purpose

– Learn what truly energizes you

– Integrate decisions that align with your values

– Guide your week with intention

– Navigate change with confidence

I’d like to invite you to take 15 quiet minutes today to answer these questions honestly:

1. What is your desired result? (Be specific – what does “time freedom” look like in your daily life?)

2. Why does this matter so deeply to you? (Go beyond the surface. Keep asking “why” until you hit an emotional truth. Refer back to the Five Why’s if you’d like.)

3. How do you want to feel? How do you want to feel when you look at your schedule for the week, the month, or the year? How do you want to feel in your body, at home or at work?

4. What will it cost you if you don’t make a change? (Consider 6 months, 1 year, 5 years from now. Is it happiness, joy, money, your closest relationships, weight, health?)

5. What must you believe to achieve this result? (What new truths do you need to embrace? For many working moms, you must at least consider the possibility that prioritizing your wants and needs isn’t selfish—and perhaps it’s actually healthy.)

6. How does it feel to fully believe in your ability to create this change?(Get into the emotional experience. Maybe you’re not there yet. That’s ok– in fact, that’s what coaching is for!)

7. What old beliefs do you need to let go of? (What stories have been holding you back?)


The Magic is in the Reflection

Don’t rush through these questions. Let them sit with you. Write down your answers, then come back to them tomorrow. Notice what shifts.

This isn’t just another worksheet – it’s the foundation for lasting change. Without this clarity, we’re just rearranging calendar blocks and hoping for the best.

Think of these questions as your compass for the ALIGN journey ahead:
– They’ll help you Audit with purpose
– Guide what you need to Learn about your energy
– Shape how you Integrate decisions
– Inform how you Guide your ideal week
– And ultimately help you Navigate lasting change
