Have you ever had a moment and realized that something happened “just on time”? I wanted to share a recent “just on time” story; it was as if the universe conspired to deliver exactly what I needed at the precise moment.
In this fast-paced world, we often find ourselves rushing to meet deadlines or achieve goals, but sometimes, life has a way of reminding us to trust the process and enjoy the journey.
Recently, I was reading “Steering by Starlight” by Martha Beck (and loving it), but I had inexplicably left the last 50 pages unread. Frustrated with myself, I wanted to finish it, but weeks went by without me picking it up again. Little did I know that this delay would prove to be a blessing in disguise.
In the meantime, I had a difficult interaction… really no need for details but I started to go down a brief shame and guilt spiral (PS I am very grateful for coaching tools because I was able to dig myself out in minutes rather than hours or days). I realized I can take feedback and incorporate what I choose and let go of the rest… feedback = words. (No matter who it is giving the feedback or what the words are). We then get to add our meaning to these words.
So, a few days later, I finally picked up “Steering by Starlight” and something magical happened. I found myself laughing out loud, as if the words were written for me in this exact moment. It resonated deeply, providing me with the guidance and perspective of a trusted mentor. It became clear to me that if I had finished the book weeks earlier, it wouldn’t have had the same impact.
I genuinely believe it happened just on time and I was so grateful.
So I started looking for other things that I thought “should have” already happened… or weren’t happening “on time” and realized the peace that comes from the thought: perhaps it’s happening right on time.
Trust the process.
Enjoy the journey.
Maybe next time you find yourself impatiently waiting for something to happen or feeling frustrated because things aren’t going according to plan, remember the power of “just on time.” Trust the process, the timing, and enjoy the journey. Embrace the peace that comes from knowing that everything will unfold when it’s meant to. Let go of the pressure and allow yourself to be open to the magic of synchronicity.

“Freedom lies in accepting our whole, imperfect selves and giving up the need for perfection.”
Also, I loved her perspective on criticism and instead of responding: “what did I do wrong?” ask “Is there anything helpful here that can support my growth and creativity?”… regardless of if I plan on integrating feedback or releasing it: “Thank you for your opinion” and move on.
“If we’re to live free of shame, we don’t let others’ evaluations define us.”
“And most of all, we choose how we talk to ourselves.”
