Grateful for Time

I’m thankful for an amazing Thanksgiving. Hoping you enjoyed the fruits of your labors or someone else’s! Cooking is truly one of my joys; I was grateful for some quiet time prepping and for the time with friends and family– filled with giggles, yummy food and tons of fun.

I know a lot of women who are incredibly successful in their careers and are also amazing parents, but often they feel like they’re missing a little something (let’s be honest, sometimes it’s a big something). It’s something placed on the back-burner of “someday”… or the gnawing angst of feeling unsettled. Sometimes it’s a big goal; sometimes it’s missing social connections.

Speaking of time, I’m about to wrap up my first course in Unlocking Free Time, specifically designed for working moms. What’s the WHY behind creating it? In my coaching experience with busy working professional moms, when you get down to why, it’s often due to time scarcity. There’s a firm belief: there just isn’t enough time.

Many clients often have NO free time for themselves, dedicating all of their time to their careers and families, putting themselves last with simply no time left. My goal is to change that. By having free time to pursue your passions, hobbies or side hustles, you can create a life filled with joy and presence. So whether you are working on running your first marathon, starting a side business or have a bucket list that seems impossible… or you want to do more yoga, read more, or start sleeping well– this course can help you ditch time scarcity and feel great about where your time is being spent!

Going back to the 5 Why’s from last week… this is a typical conversation with a client:

Why aren’t you pursuing XYZ?

I don’t have time.

Why?

Because between work, caring for my kids, shuttling them around, taking care of household stuff, I simply have no time. I’m overwhelmed already. <Usually with a sigh of defeat>

Why?

[Here’s where it often starts to get interesting… and PERSONAL, aka where coaching kicks in.]

Maybe it’s because I’ve prioritized everyone over myself… Maybe it’s because I have a really hard time asking for help…

Maybe I feel guilty because I have already given up a lot of time with my kids for my work or given up a lot of professional aspirations to spend more time with my kids.

Why?

Well I love them… I mean…look at that face;)

(And hopefully you love your job, too. Another great spot for coaching if needed… and here’s where we get to dig in.)

Could it be possible to love your kids, love your job, and love yourself enough to prioritize some free time to nourish yourself (guilt-free)?

Why?

Because when you have enough free time, you can ditch the overwhelm of time-scarcity and actually be present for life’s little moments like making a pie or your first focaccia for Thanksgiving… all the fun quirky stuff that makes you YOU.

Why?

Because sometimes the hours feel long at work or when kids are fighting, but we all know time is fleeting and somehow the months fly by. There’s no time like now to dive into your passions, nourish yourself, and pursue your dreams.

So while having free time may sound frivolous or unattainable, I promise there’s a way to support you in having it— so you can dedicate time to what’s important TO YOU. And feel great about it!

P.S. As this year comes to an end, if there’s something you wish you had spent more time on, now is a great time to get started. Imagine as you jump into the new year, you are confidently making and taking the time to pursue that special something that brings you joy!
